A new reality TV show is in the works, and this one may not be for everyone. The show will focus on crime scene cleanup crews, who are usually called to clean up messy crime scenes such as suicides or homicides. These cleaners work with law enforcement to determine if a crime has been committed by identifying marks left at the scene and using their expertise to remove any trace of evidence from the surface. This is a difficult job that many people would think of as gruesome and gross - but it's also lucrative!
Okay so it's not a show yet but here is what a new TV series following our crime scene cleaners may look like. Awhile back a show call "Hoarders" became popular where they showed a celebrity therapist work with hoarders to help them get their lives back on track. Well, this show would be the same idea but instead of people who have too much stuff we'll focus solely on crime scene cleanup crews and what it takes for them to do their job. It will also provide insight into how these cleaners deal with blood, sanitize homes, and the people the encounter when doing a crime scene cleanup. From the police perspective to the family encounters, the show can provide the human aspect of the loss of life that happens every day in the United States.
So what do we need to make this a reality? A production company that is passionate about the idea and will invest in its success would be a big help. Some have suggested a Kickstarter program. The funding is to create the show, pay for film crew, equipment etc. Most important is an audience who want to see this happen - maybe you're one of them! We know from a lot of the comments on our blogs and Facebook that may people are interested in the field of crime scene cleanup. Let's face it the audience is probably larger then we think as this is one of the most unique jobs out there!
If these three things come together then we'll be on the right road to making a new tv series. This show can not only be entertaining but educational. Crime scene cleaners come in contact with families every day who had no idea who to call to help clean blood from a home. If you think you want to be a part of this new reality tv show then please contact your local crime scene cleaner by email. We could see this on the Fall 2021 lineup if we act fast!
